Hi all,

I'm new on this forum.
I live in Brussels (Belgium).
Actually, I have a tank (about 350 gallons / 1200 liters) with 2 rays (potamotrygon pearl and potamotrygon motoro) and 1 osteoglossum.

I would have some informations about keeping a channa micropeltes in another tank of 350 gallons too.
The fish would be kept alone.
But I was wondering if it should be possible to keep 3 channas micro in this tank ?

I heard about 1 meter long for some micropeltes.
The tank will be 2 meters long.

What do you thing about it ?
Is it too short for keeping micropeltes together ? Only 1 micro would be good ?

Here under the filtration details :
1 fluval fx5 (3500liter/hour)
2 eheim (2 x 1200liter/hour for each)

Please let me know if you have any ifnormations about keeping micropeltes in 350 gallons tank ?

The micropeltes I would like to buy are about 8 to 10 inches.

Would it be ok to keep 3 micropeltes in my volume tank (350 gallons ?) ?

So, does anybody have an advice for me ?

Please let me know what you think about keeping channa micropeltes in 350 gallons ?

Does anybody have any experience ? (real experience on long term ?)

I'm pretty sure there are some members here who are keeping the Channa Micropeltes on this site, so it might be worth checking out the Snake Head / Channa section on these forums...

As for keeping a 1M long fish in a 2M long tank, i'm going to say the answer is no, not a good idea... not only should you realistically be aiming for a tank at least 3X the length of the fish, but you would also want no less than double the width of the fish so the fish can turn around easily...

The real tank size is 250cm x 70cm x 70cm (8feet x 2,5feet x 2,5feet).
So about 1200 liters (330 gallons).

I saw on the forum more than one members with tanks like 80 gallons maximum, housing micropeltes...

I don't what I have to trust on the forum, there are so many differents advises...

^ I've never personally kept a snakehead, so i was basing my judgement on your average large size fish...

But back to your comment on people putting a Micropeltes into a 80G tank, I can see them working in the 80 gallon tank for a short period of time if its used as a grow out tank for a small snakehead, but i find it hard to believe any one here would think of keeping a fish like that long term in that size tank...

that's what I though too :)

But now in 350 gallons, it's not the same as in 80 gallons.

I thought if I buy 3 micropeltes in my 350 gallons, they will be fine for at least 2 or 3 years no ?

^ Honestly, i'm not sure how fast / slow they grow? so i can't say for sure how long they will last in a 80G... so i'll leave that question to some of the more knowledgeable snakehead keepers here...

Like our mate above mentioned... Post it in Snakehead section and I am sure u will get proper advice...
