Channa newbie:1st attempt=Channa Micropeltes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your Channa are 100% sub tropical.
The op's Channa are not Bleheri, but Micropeltes. These are tropical.

Yours is a dwarf Snakehead, most of which are sub tropical.
You don't have to take my word for it, I have only kept, studied and bred Channa for years!

+1 the colours will come out much more when kept at the right subtropical species, and they are best kept in a species tank trust me i learnt the hard way,

Fish are: 2xChanna Micropeltes, 1xFlorida Gar, 1xGolden Dorado, 1xRTCxTSN = 300 gallons ;)

Nice setup and channa. I'd be a little worried about the open top though.

Slippery K; channa are legal everywhere in Canada except Ontario to my knowledge

i wish people would stop saying they are illegal in canada because they arent illegal everywhere in canada.... anyways nice channa wish i had the tank for those species!

Sent from my cave
True. BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba they legal. Ontario has a ban though not sure if that covers all Channa species or only the sub tropicals, or what the situation is further east.

OP: That is an awesome tank and great setup. There is going to be a lot of fish mass in there!
