How many eggs did they lay this time?
This thread is from 2011 and OP has not been on for almost a year. Best to start your own threadHi, I'm discovering your thread, as I also have a pair of Channa pulchra and though I wasn't sure to have mature specimen, I discovered yesterday a batch of eggs, lost in the floating plants, above one of the parents, firmly defending a surface territory...
I see in your thread that hatching is to expect within a week, more or less... I guess depending on temperature. My tank is not heated, around 21°C.
I'm hopelessly in need of further informations :
- first days feeding ?
- stealing the larvae or leaving them in tank ?
- parental predation ?
- can I go on with water changes after they hatched ? and if yes, how long after hatching ?
sooooo many questions... thanks for support !
I would shoot D -DC- a PM, I know he's bred channa before, unsure which type but he'd be the guy to start asking.ok, thanks... I'm on collecting infos, as I was quite surprised of this spawning... I had no idea they were already mature... I only bought them in June 2016, so I though I would have to wait longer till maturity...
let's wait and see... I found basic informations on www.base-channa.fr (a French website dedicated to Channa)
