Hello fellow fishkeepers,

Got a blue channa pulchra recently (3"), needed to get as much info possible on it. How to tame it, what food brings out more colour, how to make it more active. how to sex, I'm assuming mine is a female (Can share pics to confirm). Want to create a biotype for it, would be helpful if someone can guide through that as well. TIA

First I want you to know my English is quite bad so I'm using google translate. First, the snakehead fish is highly territorial. When they first enter the new tank, they will be stressed and their color will not be beautiful. Please wait, because this is a fairly intelligent and very beautiful fish. Let your fish fast for a few days. If you feed them insects or shrimp, they will just lie there and not eat. After a few days, the fish will gradually get used to the tank. Release a few small fish so that the predatory fish will rush at its prey if it is hungry or, if it is more careful, use a mirror to shine directly on its face. This will awaken its territoriality. If it flares its gills and hisses at the mirror, that is a good sign. Don't disturb it too much, put some dry leaves for your fish to hide, I recommend using Indian almond leaves, after a week, clip a worm or a worm with a pair of tweezers, move the worm continuously, if the fish chases after it to bite, you have succeeded, I wish you success, use bio filter, don't use filter, they like still water. I wish you success
