He looks just like mine when I got him except mine was beaten up :( and mine just took them instantly, let him get hungry then try hikari floating carnivore sticks that's what a lot of people use to pellet train fish because they like the texture but I think if these guys are hungry they will eat anything haha

will give it a go then :) I just hate starving them :( feel so sorry for your's having been beaten up!! At least he's in a good home now

You shouldn't have to starve him for very long, they don't seem to be fussy eaters lol and yea it's kinda his own fault tho... He got into the tank next to him at the lfs and it had a wolf fish in there :(

If they're healthy they can go a long time without food but I know what you mean, I feel guilty doing it as well, and yea the fish shop is good for getting the rare stuff, I don't know where abouts you are but it's called dillywoods garden centre and its kinda near Chatham if your close its def worth a look :)

Im up north, however, if I'm ever close I will be sure to pop in for a look, all the specialist shops up here tend to go for discus or cichlids, not many places have oddballs :( . Starving himfor about 2 days appears to have worked! He now tries to eat the pellets :) (ok he spits them out a few times after chomping, but they do mostly vanish from the tank....) ordered some hikari food sticks, wondering if he will prefer the texture...

Yea the shops around here are a bit like that but this 1 always has a good selection of oddballs and another 1 near me orders me in any thing I want if they can get it so its not to bad :) and yea mine sort of just chewed them and made a mess to start with but if he is taking them he will get used to it, he will colour up really nicely and fast now you have got him on them
