Channa sp. platinum

Very nice, Clay. :) That is Channa sp. ‘Kerala five stripe’. Sometimes sold under the trade name Channa sp. Marble. They are a fairly new species that get up to 8" in size. What size is it now? How much did it run you up for anyways??

What I've noticed about them is that they like to stay very close to the surface of the water... almost just right below the waterline. They love smashing on live crickets and mealworms.

Here's a past thread regarding...

Price was good for the guy who bought it. I'm just the photographer :D.... This one is about 5" or so. Is your m or f?

Thanks for the info on the species. I'll pass it along....

Good for the buyer! :)

The one in the pics isn't mine as well... can't say for sure what sex that one is, but i'm thinking it possibly could be a male. (According to Ulrich Alsfasser statement on the blue coloring on the male's finnage). ;)

Hmmmm, this one looks to be a female. I think the owner of the fish should be on the lookout for a male.....

i dont think baloo (ulrich) has any of these anymore he was selling them off a few months ago but he was keeping a group to breed if my memory serves me correctly.

I heard the owner of this fish got a second one recently. I wonder if he plans to breed them???? He'll probably set up another tank for these 2 specifically.
