Hi
What are some good permanent tank mates for channa diplogramma in 250 gallon tank which is 6ft made of 12mm glass ? And can i house channa pseudo marulia with diplo and a tsn ?
I want personal experiences.

Thank you

Permanent? None.
They will kill everything whether they can fit it in their mouth or not.

Mine are juvies (Aprox 20 cm), and they already killed Geos twice their size.

If you wanna keep tankmates, you can try for a few month, once they reach maturity it's over, though. Only chance would be a fish that can bully them, but then they won't move, and might die of stress, so it's not a solution at all.

Afraid there is no tankmate alternative for any channa other than the rare cases of Pleurophthalmas and Marulius that some people manage to make work.

Thanks Madou for the valuable inputs it was very helpful. The diplo will be in a solo or two diplo in one tank. Please give me your experiences about multiple diplo permanently in one tank like the colours it's awesome. Everyone who has multiple diplos please reply your experiences

Thank you

My two are doing well right know, but I know there is a one in a thousand chance that they pair up, maybe more like one in a million for the simple fact we can't tell what's a male or a female. It feels like there's a hungry female, and a following male, but it's pure speculations.

They do have tankmates and they squabble with my wolf fish for now, but they're about the same size, once they outgrow him, he won't mess with them much... or he will... And might pay for it ;)

I also know all tankmates must go, at one point, but I should be fine until I move (july). So i'm not too worried, once I move I'll have them all scooped out and can bring them to my LFS. Except the wolf, I need a tank for that amazing fish. :)

Ok then the tank will be solo diplo :) if I can't resist the urge i will make another solo diplo tank :D. Thank you madou for the valuable inputs.
I have another query I will make a 12*5*2ft tank (l*b*h) it will be either snakehead or pbass or ray tank, my question is if I make a snakehead tank i will go with micro (open suggestions are welcome) but I am worrying that if the fish will accidentally or intentionally break a 19 mm glass:(.

Thank You

Holy molly dude, that's a bigass tank. Will 19 mm even be enough for that volume? I have no idea hehehe

I am pretty sure 19mm is way too thick for a micro to break, but I don't know how much weaker it gets with that much pressure, though I assume all the reinforcements do the trick.

I can't answer your question, but I don't think I would dedicate that volume to any sneakhead other than perhaps a big group of Pleuros

The tank will be divided with 19mm Belgium toughened glass Madou :) a group would work ? Heard many have failed.

Thank you

Pleuros are probably the only ones you can group, but as with all channas, there are more stories of fails than wins.

I would try it in a heavilly planted tank.

SBM I have 5 for last five months and they r doing well but madou is right , they r totally unpredictable,

I have kept channas with arowana, gars, datnoids and birchirs without any problems. Trick is to have space and hiding places for them.
