My 2 inch channel catfish is having fin problems. All of his fins are degrading and the tail fin has white on where its degrading and all of his other fins are degrading with blackish stuff on them. Its been like that for about a month and I was hoping it would just go away. it didnt so I tried aquarium salt a couple weeks ago. what should I do?

Your case involves finrot which is caused mostly by poor water quality and bacterial infections hence why I asked for your water parameters to be sure of it. These are just the only reasons why your fish would suffer frayed fins unless the tankmates are nipping each other constantly and wounds left untreated that bacterial infection sets in instead. The black part seems a healing process to me which normally, it is. If it were white, then it definitely has a case of finrot.
For treatment, doing plenty of water changes is all you needed. Aquarium salt can be administered if dissolved and added properly. A 0.3% solution (3 teaspoons per gallon) will do it.

Well y other catfish fins are OK. And the Mosquito fish stay on the top and they try to stay away from them so I dont think it was them but it might be.
