Not the fastest growing of the big cats but it'll pose a danger to your tetras long before spring. I've seen them in ponds with large adult koi and they get along just fine but they WILL eat anything that can fit in thier mouths. You'll have to provide seperate pond sections for smaller or baby koi.

They grow 2" a month for a while (if fed properly), and after 20" they slow down a bit. Not a good fish for a 55.

ive seen them in my lfs for the same price but the are always sold out when go to get one, but they got one in a in door pond that got to be atleast 2-1/2' it looks like a pitbull!!! also just want to know r the active swimers? or do they only swin around at night???

They seem fairly active to me...and at all times. John has a huge one in with Sam and company. Pitbull with fins is an apt description...

Three to five months depending on feeding schedule...They can go in the pond anytime you like however. Little CC's can take care of themselves. Just provide a couple of safe hiding places and add some meaty food to the pond chow.
