We have on in our 1000 gallon indoor Koi pond at work, about 16"-18" that eats out of my hand and chews on my fingers. Very social.

He will hide in true catfish fassion until he reaches a foot long or so and then take over the pond no mater who or what objects lol

eventually....yes.

not for a while, i 20 inch cat cant eat one but when they start pushing 24 or 25 they can but that would take at least 2 years probably closer to 3. i was fishing tonight and caught a monster one coming in at 13lbs and 31 inchs. then large goldfish would be a snack for him

They eat fairly large golds even at 18". Easily eat 6"ers.

I would keep the cat in the 55 untill it hits 7-10".

Provide lots of caves and watch out, he's noctural at times and your fish will start diseappering.

I would feed mine freeze dried krill and even during the day he would come to the surface to eat them. It did take him 2-3 weeks to figure out that they were food, but once he got the routine down he would get very excited when he saw me grab the can. Probably my favorite fish, and most missed.
