Channel catfish grow to about 40 inches at a very fast rate and eat anything they can fit in their mouths, I hope you have a bigger tank and a pond in the future for that cat (or at least a tank of 250g).
heres a pic of my 2yr old channel cat currently 26" and living in the indoor pond. They will grow faster if you keep them in warm water. And feed them a variety of foods like massivore, shrimp, talipa, I even feed mine catfish or chunks of tuna steaks when I cook them for dinner. Basicly they will eat anything you put in the water. including cameras (last pic)
these guys are super tough. You will need a great bio filteration setup though. Really you'd be hard up to kill one in a tank though. They can live in just about any water temp..though im not sure how they would handle 80+ water for to long. When I went on vacation for a week there was a power outage a few days after I left apparently and all the filters, and heaters turned off and didnt reset. Came back a week later to a smelly cloudy tank. all the other fish were dead or eaten but the channel was still sitting there waiting to be feed. When I tested the water it was way darker than the 10ppm for ammonia. And hes still alive and kickin 1yr later. no worst for wear
