Channel Catfishes Owners...

oh thanks for the replies guys!!!! so far mines eating earthworms but not too much. maybe he needs more time to be comfortable in my aquarium. i just caught him last 2 weeks.

I wouldn't put in a hiding spot if you have other fish that love to hide... i had a CK and a channel cat. they fought all the time over the same place... and i had more then one hiding place.

Ive been "trying" to pump it up by using chicken and fish fillets and earthworms but it would only eat little. I notice the channels i catch when fishing, theyre tummy is so big!!! do i have to wait for it to come out of its shell? have it for 2 weeks now. Also, hows their growth rate like?

he will need time to settle in....and get used to the new temperature

once he starts eating be careful he doesnt spit food out that might foul the tank...he eats everything including a lot of dry food :)

ours is now just shy of 3 feet in about 3 years...check him out on the tankcam....
