Had no idea they grow faster then Rhaphs..... Guess Rhaphs might not eat them. I stand corrected. Learn something new everyday.

However I never expected a 2.5" Rhaph to be capable of eating 1.5" rosies, but hey, I'm a believer now.

Josh please get some striped pike characins and lemme know how they do.

I'm no expert. You just proved that. All I do is read, read a scientific paper about Rhaphs in the wild and mearly passed along the info. The Rhaph I had for 5+ years topped out about 14" so i thought there may be some truth to it.

Skiddish and flighty may be bad in some cases but with rays I think it's a lot better then being stand offish like Armatus. Cocky fish with rays usually means lunch. For the ray.

I actually think I've lost most species of Characin to rays at one point in time or another.

I thought the Cudas were more skiddish, but then again haven't kept any for more then a few months. See above. lol

14 '' rhaph dam man! any pics? i had 4 for about 8 months in a 210 lost one to infection, 2 due to stress starvation, and the last was neearly decapitated by my fatf last week. cudas are very flighty in smaller tanks. i moved my falcirostris out of a 125 into a 210 and noticed more bold outgoing behavior. lessons learned 4 all of us bro, im no expert either, just a characin addict.

Not sure if I have any pics.... Lost my work computer, most of my older pics were on it. There's probobly pics posted here somewhere. Had that Rhaph almost 5 years....

Rhaphs don't fare well with many fish. They are peacefull, timid, and demand room. I'm unaware of anyone else breaking the foot mark with them.... Most falling prey to something contributed by poorly chosen tankmates or meds.

Kept many Characins over the years. Rays love them. As food. :( I just love em cause they never threaten the rays. To me there's no better site in an aquarium then rays under Characins.....
