very nice! how big is the atf now? how long til he got that big? what's their staple diet? sorry for the many q's. i'm just excited bout my atf, wish i could grow him out like yours.. awesome coloration as well!

No problem. I like questions.

The ATF was 4" dec 2008 and is now pushin 16". I have fed trout as the main part of the diet on a 2-3 day schedule with daily feeds of worms, pellets and the current favourite is dried mealworms supplied as bird food. They float and the byrcons love them aswell.

From an early stage he has been in a large tank given plenty of room to move around and exercise. I did have 2 but had to pass the otherone on as it was getting attacked constantly.

So the tank is 300+ gallons, what are the dimensions? I had a VATF in a 8x2x2. had to let it go as that tank was too small when my VATF was about 14".

Awesome tank BTW.

Apologues, so used to talking in Gallons on this site. The tank is 8'Lx32"Wx24"H, I am guessing it's the width that caused the issues for you.

It's tempting to get some if they're about- WW got any?

Also, on the tank size; I have always thought that width is as important as length- just because the tank is 10' long, does not mean it is suitable for large fish. It's totally deceiving at first, and may not add to the initial visual impact but for the fish, it's undeniably a better system.

WW have one or two of the sp. Columbia, I really wanted Dentex or Whitie but have had trouble getting them.

I completely agree, to an extent the width is as important as the length, you need the turning room for the fish to look and feel comfatable.
