Quite a bit more than a foot. Depending on the sp. there are some kicking about that are well over 18" possibly even 20".

Yeah...they can grow to that size...but slow growth rate

Sure, and I'm not disputing the rate of growth. I'm just saying that they can and should grow considerably bigger than just 12".

Heres some Flagtails @ Inner Harbor Baltimore well over a foot more like 2ft. The Pacu is at least 4' - flagtails upper left.
