Sorry it took so long to reply back! I am not 100% sure of what type she is b/c I have yet to see another like her. As for handling, you can handle a hedgie! Carefully! lol Once they get used to you they are less likely to prick you on purpose but either way when you do get pricked it isn't so bad its just like a pin prick.

they would curl up and hiss and puff.. it felt weird if the pricked you as well.. wasnt just a prick. you could tell exactly where they pricked you haha

mine were interesting to watch. they are real curious and just an all around good pet. fairly easy to care for.

if i had to do it over again i would get a ferret. my aunt used to have them and they were just awsome
