moving bed filter questions, help!

Hi guys, Im building an internal moving bed filter behind the false back of my new diy aquarium and after calculating 1 liter of air per min for 1 liter of k1 media i found that i need approximately 20 liters of air per minute to properly run it.

My question is can i use multiple airpumps and/or airstones to accomplish that? Or do i need 1 airpump with at least that much air per minute?

And my other question is about my 6 outlet airpump that says it flows 14 liters per minute with a pressure of >0.016Mpa.

Is each outlet pumping 14 liters of air per minute? Or is that divided among the 6 outlets making each 2.33 liters per minute?

The airpump i have is a resun AC-9906.

Any advice would be much appreciated
thanks in advance

Your 1/1 for air to media is a guide line not set in stone. My guess would be 14lhr total, which should be sufficient depending on how your chamber is set up for the moving bed itself. Could you give a little more detail on how it will be set up. Dimensions of chamber inlet and outlet location gph flow threw chamber, it all helps with the way moving beds work.

Thanks so much for the reply, my chamber is 120cm long, 10cm wide and 46cm tall. Water level will be at about 44cm flowing about 1800 liters per hour with approx 20 liters of media. I made the inlet and outlet with 60 10mm holes on each baffle(i think its way more than i need but wanted to be safe). I definately understand your point about how the airflow should depend on the dimensions of the chamber and since mine is long and thin i think i could get the media moving in a circle or two circle type motion which i assume wouldnt need as much airflow to power it. I was just following a 1/1 ratio rule of thumb uarujoey mentioned in one of his fluidized filter videos. So do you think my current airpump would suffice? But im still not sure if i need all 6 outlets to achieve that or if each one is already flowing 14liters air per minute. On my other air pump it specifies 2 outlets with 2x0.015Mpa and 2x3liters per minute but this one doesnt. Was trying to calculate using that how much mine would flow but somehow i got so confused..
