Agree on all points above... Mine was working good-till it dropped into the water change bucket. Not to sure on accuracy either, but it's main purpose was to ensure water change temps and fish acclimation was done in a stressed fish free manner.

How about the on tank stickers? Accuracy? How much do they get effected by the room temps? (garage tank)

I have three thermometers on my 450g. Two stick-on, one at each end of the tank and a regular old glass thermo in my sump. The two stick-ons read 1-2 degrees lower then the glass one in the sump. Also one end of the tank is near a window. With the window open and a cool breeze blowing the stick-on's reading, nearest the window, has dropped 5 degrees before.

Always best to confirm all your thermometer readings against another thermometer or/and the thermostat on your heater.

For $.99 a piece I might just pick up 2 per tank (@ x5) and just figure the average is 'true' temprature...Maybe switching up different thermometers during water changes...

so the best thermometers are the stick on ones . an do the sticky ones work for an acrylic tank

No. The regular old glass thermometers that go inside the tank are most accurate while still being relatively affordable IMO. I hate the stick on ones. I never got a reading from one that was even remotely close to the water temp. They seem to be as much as 5-10 degrees off for me depending on ambient air temperature.

eww i hate the glass ones my fish will break them whats the second most accurate thing

i have two from different brands that look like your first one... both read the exact same temps basically and never had a problem with either of them...

They are in accurate. I had two that had a difference of 4 degrees between the two. Somewhere there is a pic floating around of 5-7 of these that vary 6-8 degree from one another.

Wow, interesting. I've used nothing but one of those on my 260. I'm going right now to put a glass one in the 260 to see what it reads.

edit: I went down and tested the glass thermometer. It appeared that the thermometer reading did not differ more than .3 degrees than that of the coralife digital.

I am not trying to discredit polish's experiment, because it is pretty good proof of the inconsistencies.

wow im stuck on what to buy
