i have been thinking of using a large plastic tub to house fish. would this work? If not what are other cheap setups i could do? I want to house a rtc tsn hybrid.

i have seen large rubbermaid tubs used as indoor ponds. i think its alright to house fishes in it just give it a go =)

Rubbermaid water trough from your local agracultural store ,Tractor Supply etc..

yeah it will work
you could even go cheaper and get a kiddie pool

what do you think the max size i could get in a kiddie pool would be?

how much would a 400 gallon trough be?

You gotta watch out with the possibility of chemicals being used in the pool. Imo the best way is to go like the guy in the thread "DIY Indoor Stingray Pond", wich is, make a wooden frame and use pond liner wich is designed to house fish in. I dont think it would be that much more expensive and you can determine your own dimensions. Besides, it looks much better than a blue kiddie pond..
