OK guys the original of this is from another forum were he added two bulbs to a perfecto hood in my 29 gal i have four bulbs in this one there will be three bulbs this hood is for my fifty five gallon tank so its two hoods with a center brace OK so here goes i striped the fluorescent bulb and assembly clean out and was left with just the plastic shell i then drilled two holes in each side of the hood sorry i wasn't taking pics at this point i then added porcelain sockets to each side
so it looked like this
to attach the socket to the hood i used these
so after that i then took a roll of steel exhaust hanger and cut to size then i bent it into an l drilled two hold in the back of the hood were i stuck to bolts through and bolted my new bracket to the hood i then drilled the L bracket to fit the socket and that looked like this
i then attached the socket and ran all white wires together and to the switch to turn the lights on then i ran all the black wires together and to the lead cord
then all that is left to do is get bulbs for it and you have a new light the cfl's from walmart work great
