Cheap Sand??

I used play sand for one of my tanks, I only got about 25-30 lb out of each 50lb bag because I had to rinse it sooooooo much to get the red cloudyness out,

still worth the savings if your substrate doesnt have a specific requirments
 
GET SILICA SAND ITS USED FOR SANDBLASTING AND IT IS ONLY LIKE $3.50 FOR A 50LB BAG AT MENARDS. I HAVE IT IN MY CONVICT TANK AND THEY DIG IN IT AND EVERYTHING AND THEY SEEM TO BE OK...I FORGOT TO RINCE IT...NO CLOUDYNESS AT ALL...
 
About this whole play sand idea... I know it comes in regular tan... and I've seen hot pink (my sister has twin girls)... Any other colors?
