Cheap Sealant?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There's no such thing as cheap, you get what you pay for :) Looking at the specs for it I see this: Resists mold, mildew and algae, as well as fading, abrasion and akalis, that cannot be good for your fish. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to get a good product.

I wouldnt use it. I would be worried some of those chemicals will leach into the water

I have several tubes of ge 1200 series construction sealant left from my 370 build if your interested. Also, theres a DIy guy on youtube, UaruJoey, uses liquid rubber. look him up.

Anyone heard of this stuff " Elastomeric " ? I saw it mentioned on another forum but not sure if its safe

I remember seeing a insl-x product used but there are like 4 of them. Is this a feasible sealant? Has anyone tried it, or is their epoxy paint a better choice.
Thanks

I'm fairly certain Muni used the chlorinated Insul-X product in his build. You'll have to read through the thread to confirm and find out how long he had it running and stocked.
