Cheap Substrate for Big Tanks?

That won't happen as long as you rinse the lighter particles out of the sand before putting the sand in the tank.

Sand can be a pain,IMO. If you have never used it before,trying it in a large tank may not be the best move.

Pea gravel works. Rinse it very well before you put it in. I got 200 pounds for $14.00
