Just thought of something that may work.... If I wanted to add extra volume to a ray tank in the form of a sump would a large (like, really large) rubber maid tub work? Because its the same principle, but it's not as pretty and you can't see through it but it's a heck of a lot cheaper. Has anyone tried this?

My 100 gallon rubbermaid sump. Slightly less ghetto :)

The best part is how easy it is to drill wholes for bulkheads and the fact that they come with a threaded whole for a return pump ready to use.

ya, i did the same thing for my previous setup, only thing is the ones i used was a 45 gallon one and the water tends to bow out the sides of the rubber maid and over time split it. i double stacked 2 inside each other the next time but it still bowed out but didnt start tearing down the sides like when i used just one.

I love it when other people gave brilliant ideas that make think "now why didn't I think of that?" Haha
