cheap tank idea

practicality over fish safety ain't gonna be enough reason not to spend more money on taking care of fish.

I've seen this done a lot, with rubbermaid stock ponds tubs. I would be cautious of the heater melting the plastic.

Hi. I do this a lot. As long as the tub has a food safe logoe on the base, it is ok. Did you see me in the pfk june issue a few years ago. It talks about one of my old molly setups which was just a plastic tub and diy filter.

no i don't think i did, is it on the web

I'd say you are good to go. I did write rubbermaid one time and they told me that although they thought my request was odd, that all of their containers are "stock" safe.

thats one ghetto setup. just try it with some common fish. if they survive then hey you've got yourself a setup!!!
