I would like to get the best and cheapest canister filter for my turtle tank and I'm going to count each turtle as 50 gallons and each fish as 50 gallons as well but they are definitely waste producers I currently am running a fluval 05 series filter not sure what type like model other than 05 and it keeps reaching it's bio load so I need something that won't stop working until all waste is Gone and I need something as cheap as possible no diy filters but I need to find out the best filter btw the tank is currently a 55 gallon until I buy my 120 and I believe the filter is rated for like 70 gallons idk but I need a filter rated for around 200-500 gallons. Stock is all baby fish/ juvenile turtles
2- 1"-2.5" jack dempseys
1- 2.5"-3.5" Oscar
1- 5" female pastel red eared slider
2- 4"-5" male red eared sliders

Fluval FX5

Cheap - find cheap sump buy some good filter socks and get a bunch of filter bags for media. Fx5 is good but you will need to clean it often with that tank setup. They are a good filter though I have 2. I just know if I was going to run a filter and not a sump I would want two fx5 on a 300 gallon tank. I can go about two weeks on my 125. But with my sump setup it can go a really long time.
