That Reaction Canister is built by Sunsun, on Ebay for $79.

I was actually looking at those on ebay and was wondering if anyone has used them before. I would go to the DIY forum and look at sumps. Lots of ideas on there. And step by step on how to make the,

Yea i don't buy much from foster and smith but i love their website its chock full of information and its easy to navigate around! Then you can just search for the best price [e-bay usually wins]

F&S has testimonials and feedback from customers on most products.

Sunsun models are 302,303,304 with the "B" units having the built in UV light. The 302B is only $45, 303B $79, 304B about $115 if I remember. 220, 380, 530 gph respectively. I have the 303B as a spare for my C360. If I knew around Sunsun earlier, I would have just bought it. Since all regular canisters have $20 in plastic parts and a $10 water pump the size of your fist, no need to pay $150-$200 for these units.

+1 on the ac110! i have one on my 55 and it alone kept the water spotless, i do have a 30gallon filter on the other side to keep water flowing and from stuff getting stuck to the bottom in the sand.

DIY drawer system wet/dry sump for 90g+ tanks is cheap, and easier than a HOB to maintain. Overflows work well..... there are many PCV overflow builds here that are $20 or less to build.

hello i was trying to figure out what type of filter would be the easiest, and cheapest to maintain. and also keep the water crystal clear. i don't minding having to make it myself.

Office Depot:

3 Stage plastic drawer->$8.99
Plastic case which is the "sump"-->$6-10

Filter Media:
---->SPonges bought from local chinease surplus stores--->$$1-1.99 for a group....Purchase enough to filldrawers........Probably be spending $20-30,maybe less......

Pump->Depending on tank size, I like the Rio pumps......My pump I use on my 125g cost me $79.99......:popcorn:
