Thats funny because all the ones I have seen are more priced than kamfas of the same size.
I don't think that is a red dragon, and the price depends on the size of the head and quality. I usually see 2'' red dragon at the price about 50 cents in Vietnam and most of red dragon will not have the big head !

Flowerhorns are hybrids, meaning there will be good and poor quality of each strain.
My guess to the reason that you see so many "red dragon" so cheap with no hump is because Asian like red fish, so, so many people breed "red dragon" without regards of quality and then try to sell it and the market is flooded with cheap "red dragon."

i dont think,,,,, red dragons with humps are so cheap as the other guy is saying.......
if u r toking of them without humps,,,,,ok they may b reallly cheap
but red dragons with humps are at least where i stay not so cheap,,,when u compare them with the others.

well red dragon don't have much chance to get big head, a big head red dragon is not cheap but still so much cheaper than a big head King Kamfa, some big head king kamfa could worth more than $ 10k ! most of the time I see a 3'' big head king kamfa from king Flowerhorn in Thailand is around $400-$1000.

Hungdang,,,,
u may b rite in that issue that, red dragons dont get as big humps as kamfas do.......

the most expensive FH I have ever seen is a king kamfa win the gold place in a contest in Vietnam back to 2007(or 2008); after he win the gold medal, a breeder from Thailand pay $24000 to have him ! Also I don't really know what kind of FH in this case but a billionaire in Brunei pay $120 000 for a FH, he believed that the black things in the fish body look like Chinese words can bring luck to him !

I find everything on this thread false, except for the fact that flowerhorns overseas are a whole lot cheaper. Seriously.
First of all, Red Dragons kok aka nuchal hump is way bigger than any flowerhorns alive on Earth. I have a hard time finding a Kamfa with the largest nuchal hump and even try to compare it with a Red Dragon. Maybe you guys haven't seen Red Dragon's with a nuchal hump that is the size of 2 fist put together. Or even so large for a matter of fact that when the fish eats, it misses its food! And no, this is all natural without any injection of silicone or steroids for that matter of fact.
Thai ZZ are notorious for their ginormous head. Compare to any Kamfa whether it is from any part of the Malaysia area into Vietnam and Thailand, non of them even come close in terms of the average flowerhorn population with the largest head size.
Any Red Dragon itself is no where cheap if you manage to come across a decent Red Dragon. They will be price just as much as a Kamfa would. A Kamfa is price the way they are because of the pearls and compactness of the fish itself in terms of body, mouth, and tail(including inset eyes and multiple coloring). It is just more suitable to each and their own liking.
And I know those aren't U.S. currencies, and I've seen master piece fish that cost a whole lot more. If those are U.S. currencies, then it wouldn't make sense why the 7 times all around Indo KGM champion only cost 8 racks in USD?
Pung Kung and Thai Siam are the 2 top most notorious Red Dragon for their head size, I don't care what kind of fish you want to put it up with. They have the largest head overall. Saying such that Red Dragons don't have head size to them at all or even that their head is not comparable to a Kamfa is false. They rule out all flowerhorns for nuchal hump size in general. This is all I have to say...:D
