I love it.

And I have seen large Chelydra serpentina (Common snapping turtle) take down adult muscovy ducks in my back yard.

If you don't know what a muscovy duck is, they are a domesticated hybrid bird raised for meat. They are almost as large as a small goose, weighing in at 15-20lbs.

yep, Pelomedusa subrufa is known to hunt down birds too. But in this case, the turtles are (most likely) Phrynops hilarii. I have seen the video this summer when it was published on a brasilian website. It could maybe be P. geoffroanus, but in my experience this species doesn't get as huge as P. hilarii and the head is not that broad.

I have an african sideneck and I cant get this guy to go after a stinking goldfish. I guess my parakeet is safe now.
