Check out my Dovii!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He is about a year old, and is a costa rican dovii, male and female are very is to tell apart after they hit about 4 to 5 inch. Gold are usally the costa rican cause they have a yellow base color on the body and blue are the nic.

can the nicaraguan and the costa rican dovii breed together? the thing is I have a male costa rican, and 2 nicaraguan females (I assume they are female because they grow slowly; correct me if am wrong could that a nicaraguan male also has lower growth rate compare to male costa rican??)

I wouldnt mix locations personally but they can breed, what do you feed them and how often do ypu change water?

I give them meat cows meat, liver, and some chiclid foods and every other day, i give them chunks of bloodworm. i give them some grocery store shrimps, and sometimes turkey bacon. do you think its bad for them?
What's wrong with mixing location? is it bad for the fry? what will the babies gonna look like when they grow up? r they gonna follow costa rican daddy or nicaraguan mommy?

oh yeah I never change water at all since i placed them in a 100 galon tank, that was about a month and a half ago ,i got the filter and i only add water coz they evaporate all the time

Lol brother thats the worst thing you can do to your fish, you need to change the water once a week at least 25 percent! When the water evaporates it gets very concentrated and toxic. NEVER ADD WATER WITH OUT REMOVING IT!

That's like 25 gallons a week, which water should you add? i hesitate to add tap water coz they got clorine and all i usually put rain water i dont know if its acidic but when i collect rain water usually i wait untill the first rain clears all the acid you know in Houston, TX we got lots of rains and we collect them usually for plants and gardens and stuff. I can use 25 gallons from the tank for plants instead and use clean rain water for the dovii.

Oh thats why the other guy asked if he was stunted! No man he is not short body this last month he has grown vertically but I dont think he look unusally short
