JD roughly 10 inches. so EBJD roughly 10 inches, but this hybrid may stay a few inches smaller.

I like EBJD when theyre lil, i think they look nicest!
Its not a hybrid.Just a color morph.

splittin hairs.
Considering that those are two entirely different situations, I hardly think "splitting hairs" is an appropriate statement to make. Color morphs (humankind, for example) are not the same thing as hybrids.

Thats a unique looking EBJD, he had the patterns and shape of a normal morph JD, any more shots of him?

I noticed a major difference in head shape between Cichlidmasterpro's EBJD nd Rambo's EBJD. the first has a beak-like shape to its head like a parrot and rambo's is sloped like a normal JD

Why the difference anyone know?

Oh yeah nice fish too by the way :naughty:

There has been a lot of research to conclude if Blue Dempseys are hybrid or natural occurring color morph…

None of the research has shown any signs of them being a hybrid… although the research is not conclusive enough to ‘prove’ they are natural occurring.
I personally think it is ignorant for anyone to attempt to state conclusively either way… opinions are legit, but should be stated as such…

I have raised a regular male side by side with a Blue male… the Blue male is slightly larger… based on experience I think it’s silly to think that Blue Dempseys will not get as large as regular ones…

Due to the way the color gene is passed down, these fish are all too often inbred. I believe this has caused deformities, which is why some do not have the exact same body shape as regular JDs.

Here are a few pics of some of mine…

My biggest male (7.5” @ 2 years old)

Female in breeding colors (5” @ 1.75 years old)
