Check out my Green Anaconda

very cool mate! keep handling him, dont let the biting scare you off otherwise it will become problematic when it gets bigger.

you should also try to target train it to go inside a trap box to feed and for cleaning. It is much safer that way when it comes to either venomous or large aggressive snakes.

As far as the enclosure goes, i think it is fine for the time being and it should not be too difficult to build a bigger latter. I would suggest a nice large one for its next tank though (8'x3'x3') so that you wont have to build another.

And you're okay with that? If a snake did that to me, I'd introduce it intimately to one of these

it is just a part of owning certain snakes. and i think you may rethink the butcher knifes after you have paid several hundred dollars for the snake that just bit you. rubbing alcohol is a much less costly and more effectiv way to get them to let go.

Would you have to heat the water if the tank was heated?

They found one not long ago here eating ducks . Must have been before cold wave.
Its better just to be shure, this guys are very aquatic and just like all tropical reptiles low temps are very dangerous to them

You'll need to get him a very large terrarium/enclosure eventually. I wouldn't recommend feeding it in a separate enclosure, just train it with a hook. Basically, you tap its head with a hook to alert it that it's not feeding time.

 your going to have to post back in a few months
