Where did you buy him? I'm searching for a black at around 200 right now. Any more than that and I would rather just wait.

I heard about them being fragile but I took a shot and scooped a baby black Arowana 2.5" no egg sack $59 and eats anything that hits the surface, even flakes!
ate crushed floating food sticks first day home.

If it can fit into their mouth, they'll eat it. A 12" arowana will attempt to eat a long body type of fish that's 6" sometimes. Usually won't bother other fish to big to be seen as food. Depends on the individual fish also.

When my black aro was 12" there is no way he would eat a 6" fish, maybe a 6" night crawler. He's 24" and doesn't eat my 6" loaches.

I picked up my Black at Aqua Hut in Coram Long Island he had six,I don't think he has any more left,but it is a great store to check out supper cheap on fish and supplies He sells Hikari frozen blood worm 16 oz nine bucks three or more and way cheaper on filters and lights and any other supplies you could need

That was my experience last spring. Day one hikari food sticks.
