A crack in my armor eh?
I never claimed to be an expert, Just sharing what I thought. and asked a question...

Comparing the 2 fish, you infact did get the fish you paid for. If you match the flowerlines and the green stripe on the face it is, in fact the King diamond. It just looks much better before you had it, Im hoping from stress from moving.

BTW I got no beef with L4J, Hes supplying excellent quality fish to the east coast which is awesome. Personally havent had experience with the guy, and was curious about your fish... My bad.

There is multiple different type of King Diamond in terms of standard qualification to a certain taste. Some King Diamond are bred for colors, others are bred for their pearls etc etc etc. Overall, it is very possible that this fish is a KD. I am going to say this fish is quite young, and its long body doesn't determine the fish being a ZZ or whatsoever at this age. Every young fish will always have an elongated body regardless what strain they are.
The fish itself seems to be the original, the shipping and packaging and so on just cut down on the size of the head. The lighting of your tank will also have an effect on how they look also, keep that in mind. You should notice with the difference of the two pictures. Other than that, its a nice fish and keep us updated!

P.S. - KD is bred out from a TK. So this means that a KD is a Kamfa, not a ZZ. :)
