This is my current tank:

Equipment:
55 Gallon Tank
2 Rena Cal 300 watt heaters
1 Rena Cal Air Pump
1 Emperor 400 Filter
1 Penguin 300 Filter
Fluorescent Lighting and hoods

Fish:
1 4.5" male convict
1 3.75" female convict
4 1.5 " convicts
5 convict fry
2 4" Pictus Cats
7 3.5" Exodon's (Whoever says that these get 6 inches is crazy; unless they take like 2 years to grow.)
1 3" Senegal Bichir
1 3" Pacu

The convicts except the largest male and female will soon be moved unless they are eaten. The rest will stay until they are too large and will be moved to another tank.

What do you think?

Why do you have exodons with other fish they do not play well with others? :(

They didn't at first but now they do not bother any of the fish at all except the pacu from time to time (maybe a nip or two). They won't even kill the convict fry anymore.

I think exodon's are way overrated for their aggressiveness. I have had them for almost a year now.

They are probably grabbing scales off the pacu to eat which is their favorite food and way more interesting to them than convict fry. Poor pacu :(

If the damn thing was in trouble I would remove him. He is fine. I watch all of my fish and know how they act and react to situations. The pacu eats right in the middle of the exodon's. I am not a cruel person; trust me I would yank the damn fish if he was in trouble. The exodon's when they were younger were highly aggressive but there aggressive tendencies have slowed drastically over time.

Sounds like an interesting mix. What are your plans for the Pacu when he starts to reach Monster Size?

I realize he will become a monster one day. I am planning a huge tank for my dining room that he will be moved to one day. Any idea what the growth rate is on these guys?

I had a pacu in a 125...He grew so darn fast...I about a years time he went from a 5" little cutie to a 9" aggresive monster...We took him back to the pet store ASAP! Of course this is from when we first started our tanks out and experamenting with different fish mixes....

Jen ;)
