Check out my Texas Cichilid "Carpintis"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You're gonna have to do a lot of growing out and breeding back before you get anything that looks like that SRT. SRT breeding projects take a while unless you have some actual breeding SRTs which is part of the reason they're so expensive. He is a nice fish though. I'm assuming the eggcrate is to keep him in one little section for photos so you don't have to chase him around the whole tank?

Red Tex are from Carpintis and King Kong Parrots (Midas X Non-Blood parrot [parrot with whitw splotches]); as most red-blood parrots are sterile.

Good luck! Get him more tank space.

These are the fish your going to get. - http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwflowerhorn&1286656282
You get a Carpintis with a red tint. Red Texas are bred with 100's of fish all line bred for certain traits. If your looking to breed desirable red tex your going about it the wrong way.
Got any full tank shots?

You say that I'm going about it the wrong way? Perhaps you could show us all how to do it the right way?
