Check out the amount of red!

very nice pickup. and nice nice color. hopefully it stays. most aros lose it as they get bigger. i need to take a video of my smaller one (18") as it is honestly a silver with the most red i've ever seen compared to all these pics everyone post's.

also, has anyone given parrot cichlid red food to their arowana? ... i'd imagine that would keep it red

Congrats on a very pretty Aro!!!

Feed him a lot of krill. My old silver kept a lot of red well into 18-19" mark. Krill has a lot of protein, and Beta carotene...if you give feeders, gut load them with krill before feeding them to the aro...you can also try color pellets

The guy told me that beta carotene (sp?) helps retain the red color. Any truth/experience in this?

Which is why I personally recommend using spirulina powder and astaxanthin powder together. I put my food in a bag or conainter and shake it to distribute evenly. ;)

You know, I notice this as well....the pix dont seem to do justice. Reguardless, silver arowana's are awesome red or plain silver....sweet fishies indeed.
