Festae colors can vary a lot with mood and from individual to individual. She has bands, but some of the time, some not.
Both the females in my first pic are sisters from the same spawn.
I believe Pete makes it a habit to choose the most colorful individuals for his breeding stock.
He is one of the most prolific cichlid breeders in the midwest, and not only Central and South Americans, but Africans too.
I have acquired many different species from him, Vieja, to Parachromis, Nandopsis to Tomocichla.
