I don't know if you can claim the trophy for the smallest. My girlfriend caught this earlier in the year (she has tiny fingers...that fish was freakin small!)

In college my roommate and I wanted a sunfish reef- but we only had a 10g to do it. We got the rock set up then started stocking. Got between 7-11 sunfish in there. Caught them on bent staples- now THAT'S how you get growouts! :-)

Hahha staples, I used a safety pin, dental floss and stick one time... talk about ghettooooo. Caught a few rock bass.

I was using a large 3" spoon once(for pike)...Snagged a perch.. smallest perch ever.
Here is a small brown?trout I caught using a spoon. (one I have a pic of)

I accidentally hooked a tiny baby Sparid, either a Pinfish or a Western Atlantic Seabream in florida. It was about 1'' long. The very tip of the hook point went between 2 scales on the flank. Released unharmed. As soon as you lower down the hook hundreds of the Sparid fry swarm the shrimp meat, as well as the 3-4'' Flagfin Mojarras I was targeting.
