Wow wow wow! What a really cool looking fish...one more species I can't get in Oregon :cry: Looks like a cross between a snakehead and a bichir.

I have heard they are often mistaken for snakeheads and killed :(

tattooed.. Lol jk, I've never caught a bowfin either and I'm from Michigan. Now I know where I'm going fisihing.. Can't believe something with a color scheme that ridiculous came out of our lakes!

Bowfin, Dogfish, Grinnel, it's all good.
So I hear they have some nasty upper jaw teeth. True? Nasty fish. They eat frogs, fish, rodents, crayfish, maybe even ducklings.
In aquariums wild-caught juviniles usually are loaded with tape worms and may caugh em up...not so good in a tank
