its the fisherman's oldest trick in the book, hold the fish away from your body to make it look bigger in pictures, that and it looks like some lens distortion is making it look bigger.
yeah i noticed that "right off the bat" only because i may have done that once or twice 
still an amazing fish. you know that they have trips that you can take down to the Amazon to fish for PB's for two weeks, that are fully organized! its just under $4000, kinda my dream trip

Yep, check out it's size compared to the guy's hand, not his head and body. If you look closely, because of the way the picture was taken, his hand on the fish's tail looks to be about the same size as his head. Still a big fish though, just not THAT big
+1 i noticed that too. ive always known about that trick so didnt surprise me, but it is a beauty nonetheless. it and the snakehead both have stunning colors!
the peacock bass in the amazon can get MASSIVE... i've seen many fiishing shows of guys pulling out 15lb+ P. bass. i believe the world record is now 28lbs (yes 28lbs) it was caught in febuary of last year. i would love to go on a fishing trip down there
