CHECK OUT THIS VID.....AIMARA ANYONE.....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Look at its head and jaw structure its pretty rounded and very beefey it has a massive head with a very powerful looking lower jaw that fat rounded look is very common in large Aimara

Also just noticed i was watching it in HD and at 2:05 into the vid i paused it and you can clearly see there being fed pike cichlids as we'll as tilapia

if david says it's not an aimara- it's not an aimara. Some lacerdae get that large, and i'd bet some black sp's get that big aswell. There are alot of varients in the hoplias species from different locals. Looks similar to an aimara to me, but no one in this thread by any means knows more about them than david, being that he's the only one that acually keeps them.

as far as the recording device, looked similar to a canon. if it was that it's a 5D Mk2, they are the only canon SLR with HD video.

Thats an Aimara 100% its size alone is the first and biggest clue as to what species it is also i've seen pics of it some where its an Aimara

We'll i suppose we don't know how big it is for sure but compared to those Aripima ( which are around 7' if i remember right ) its pretty big

I've knwo Malas don't get over 2' and this wolf is alot bigger then 2' i know that also i've never seen proof of Lacerdaes getting much if any bigger then Malas but i would love to be proven wrong i've just never seen any kind of picture of a Lacerdae over 2' and most sources that describe this fish claim there wild size is very close to that of Malas

my perseption could be wrong about lacerdae and its possible the wolf in the vid is one but its for sure not a Mala

Firstly size is not the biggest clue that it is an aimara, there is a huge wolf here in Japan that is about 3' and it is not an aimara, it shows all the traits of being one but unfortunately it is not. This wolf I believe to be the same, I can't say for 100% sure it is not an aimara without a better pic, but I am 99% sure that it is not. So don't go around saying you are 100% b/c you have seen pics on the net, you will only confuse people.

Secondy , I know for a fact that lacerdaes can get well over 2' as can some strains of malas.

We'll i'm not going to challenge your knowledge i shouldn't of said its 100% an aimara as i aggree with you on how some wolfs show all the traits of Aimara but are in fact not so know i'm starting to question if its an aimara

If i remember right he made a thread on here about it and alot of people thought its an Aimara i'll look and see if i can find it

Thinking more about Lacerdae i've actually read several reports of them getting around 3' i just couldn't remember it for some reason and just because i haven't seen a picture of them doesn't mean i should be so quick to say they don't get bigger then Malas as i've done in the past and for that i apologize i really shouldn't talk about them at all as i've never kept one

I'll start looking for that thread

I agree with that...I mean fish never stop growing and with the right environment im convinced their are quite a few types of malas and lac's that can get to the 3ft mark and larger. Hopefully I get lucky and cn get a monster MALA, b/c a true Aimara is JUST A MERE DREAM FOR ME RIGHT NOW....:nilly::nilly::nilly:

Looking more at his other vids i don't know what kind of wolf it is for sure i was so sure it was an Aimara that i never looked at it that hard untill now

??? Does any body know if aimara color varrients have been described perhaps its just not a normal aimara ???

Also disregard my earlier statement on how its jaw structure says aimara i looked at it from another angle in another vid and its jaw structure is actually whats makeing me question if its an aimara now
