... this is NOT a fake!- i killed it...

I am confused by your hunting outfit. Where did you kill it, the zoo? They let you pet it first, right?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

no it was a wild game outfitter in oregon, 60'000 acres enclosure, not quite a zoo. it took 6 days to find him. not EXACTLY hunting but i got one wicked experience! these sheepare readily available to buy live also, there are about 3 other 4-horns in my town, one with 5-horns, and one with 6-horns, all alive! do a web search on Jacobs or 4-horn sheep if ur interested in em.

i was thinking could i use clear epoxy house deck sealant? that way i could dip the whole thing in a tub so that the sealant gets in all the little nooks of the skull. what u think, any other suggested sealants?

cant wait to see it in your tank!

SIX HORNS? Wow, that has gotta be one wicked looking sheep. Move over pot bellied pigs, your replacement has arrived! Well come to think about it, my farm-boy days included the phrase "Run like hell if that bull starts heading your way".

I didn't want to poke fun at the PJ's...kinda thought it was going too far. It got me thinking of a story my former boss told about a good friend of his. He towed his camper out west for the elk migration. He had gigantic plans drawn out, tons of maps purchased and studied, numerous hunting grounds chosed...in all, tons of work and preparation were done before heading out to ensure good odds of a successfull hunt. He arrived several days late after most hunters were already deep in the country side, and his arrival was unfortunately in the middle of the night. He parked on top of a barren hill so that in the morning he would have a good view of the surrounding area to help in deciding where to hunt first. It was really late and he was super tired from driving so he didn't set up camp or even unhitch the camper from his truck; he just went to bed. He woke up the next morning well after sunrise with the need to take a leak. When he went outside to releave himself, he found that he was surrounded by a herd of thousands of grazing elk. He went back in the camper for his gun; still in his pajamas he picked out the biggest one, and BOOM!!!. He wasn't sure if he should be excited or dissappointed. He got the trophy of a lifetime but missed out on the hunt.

I think the clear epoxy house deck sealant should do nicely. Just make sure to get it well into the brain and sinus cavity so that the calcium does not leach away.

I have a semi petrified bone that was tool cut. I got it from a spring in the Swannie River. I have no idea what kept it from disintigrating and caused it to start to petrify.
