not more expensive than tig just a bit more expensive than normal jurence

we had a few for sale in the UK a few years ago and they come up for sale all the time BUT most lose the yellow color as they grow i was told it has something to do with something they eat in the wild or water parameters

is anubas desighn getting flash zebras in cause i needed to pay 130 dollars for one 6-7 inch juruense cat not includeing shipping

if i get a flash zebra will keeping the ph low and adding plants and a little bit of tannins in the water help it keep its pattern and coloring?also feeding it massivore and krill ?

Brachyplatystoma "Flash Zebra" like it's been said is a morph/diff species than the normal Juruense. John brings them in at 10-12" sizes frequently. I believe that the majority of the yellow coloration is lost in the home aquarium due to water conditions and diet. You typically see fish with more of a yellow tinge to them lose that in the aquarium settings for some reason. I've noticed Ageneiosus species catfish and some RTC losing their yellows after leaving the muddy native waters and coming to clear home aquariums. Both those specimens pictured look great though. "Flash Tiger" also have crazier patterns differing from the typical bar/stripe combo of a Juruense, they often have wavy stripes etc and most are noticeably different patterned depending on each individual fish.

the patter is sick i want one really badly now!

i saw one of thoose that still had the yellow and it was big, maybe 2-2.5 feet. it had really brownish yellow water though, flourite mud substrate, tons of driftwood and live plants and the guy was adding some blackwater tonic. he was my neighbour for a while btw(that show i know all bout the tank)

for me the risk of it losing the yellow is to high

buy a tig and you are guaranteed a nice fish :D
