well i guess i will go do that slate but keep lookin this post there will be pics of the tank on here later
 
man that sucks but i just got done scrubbing the slate with bleach and water but i dont have any chlor out but i have well water but if i boil then bake them which is what i was goin to do but will i still need to add it or will it be fine but if i do i will haft to get some
 
I know your done cleaning by now, but I just wanted to clear something up. You can use a dish soap to clean with, just rinse repeatedly, same as the bleach. Neither will be absorbed into the rock and any will be removed in the boiling process. Baking is up to you, as it could cause cracking. (put it in a cold oven and raise the temp).

You can stick it together with silicone tank sealer so it doesn't fall and hurt the fish or tank.

thanks Dr. J.....I was just getting ready to post that the soap will NOT be absorbed into the rock....and that as with bleach you just need to rinse a LOT!!:)

its one of those things that you just have to think about what is porous and what isnt:)
