Mantilla = Wild Imported Motoro/Henlei cross

?
??????

the mother was Captive Breed!!! was not imported!

My first reaction to this was to call BS. Two rays from the same litter that have patterns that are that different...I don't think so.

However, maybe ray patterns don't work like the bulk of us think that they do. Maybe a mantilla is not a unique fish nor a pattern due to cross breeding. Maybe the mantilla ray as hobbyists know it is a pattern defect in motoros????

Cool stuff to think about.

Man what a bunch of sissies...
This were my rays & YES they are brother & sister. the mother is a Henlei/Motoro mix & the father was 100% Motoro. The mother was the ray who was having batman rays every litter & these two were from her last litter. It is NOT am Mantilla ray? The two rays in this post are also under developed like tha batman rays but not as much, the boy has a notch in the front of his disc where it did not grow together & the female'e eyes are not sngeled to the side they point straight up. I have not been letting the female breed anymore because too many of her babies do not make it...

Could be true but i have owned mantilla rays for over 1.5 years and they don't grow as big as motoro and stay on the small side only 12" at close to 2 years old. But never know either way very nice pattern on this ray and should produce some nice pups.

Hello,

I don´t know were the problem is !

The ray is Motoro x Motoro/Henlei, I´ve seen pups of that combination and they looked nearly the same.

And it is really common that pups of one litter look different if the parents are not 100% the same kind.

There is NO real "Mantilla", have u ever seen one? Only many different kinds of rays which look like something which has been called "Mantilla" get this name to get some more money for it.
