Chemicals for brown algae?

I always just dealt with it in my growout tank cause it was just glass the wood fake plants and rocks and gravel are just too hard to clean. Again I can't even use my magfloat I the back cause the paint will chip :/ I want a nice black background not a brown one ya know haha

Chemicals will only cover up the symptoms, there is either too much nutrient in the water and/or too much light. Fix those and you shouldn't have problems with algae. You could try growing some Pothos in there to help remove nitrate and other nutrients, check out the thread in the DIY Filters forum.
