Blinky! That's what I immediately thought of and was hoping for. That or a two headed massive catfish!

As everyone before mentioned, those guys do get huge on their own. I wonder if the reason they are finding them there at this size had nothing to do with them being mutated. Maybe, its because people are too afraid to catch, eat or mess with the fish there because they possibly are somewhat radio active. Just letting these guys grow to their natural lengths is unheard of anymore, and we're not used to seeing them get to these lengths.

So, any truth to the diver losing his hand to a Wels? Doesn't sound very likely considering the Wels' tooth configuration... According to that River Monsters show, the Elba River in Spain was stocked with them in the 1970's. That river is warm year-round & all catch & release, so maybe we will see how big they can really get.

I'm hoping to see someone catch a 200 kg Wels one day, that would be AWESOME!

This is exactly what I thought, the waterways have been left alone for a long, LONG time so everything is growing as it should.

Also, WTS - genuine chenobyl mud, ONLY £50 per KG, PM me!

It is still pretty cool to see them at those sizes though... Goes to show if you leave nature alone what could possibly happen.

I agree, its just sad that a nuclear mishap had to go down in order for us to leave nature alone!
