cherry head albino bichir :(

ever wondered what it would look like if a perfectly healthy albino bichir that neoprodigy sent you that was a great fish might look like if it swam into a python suction tube when you were doing a water change? me neither, but here's pics anyways. this sucks. i really liked this fish, my birthday yesterday was depressing and ****ty, so i decide to spend some time taking care of my fish tank and this happens to one of my favorite fish:

i can only imagine that his brain exploded and he's blind or something from the suction. i picked him up to bag him and he twitched so i put him in some water. he thrashes now and then. does anyone think he has a chance? this looks pretty painful.

Oh man that sucks. If he's still alive then I'd give him a chance. Blind or not bichirs can easily find food with their great sense of smell.

he's upright now, but i just have him in a pitcher of tankwater. don't want to throw him back in the 180. can i do anything for him.

I think his head is all read due to the force of the suction. He might be OK or eh might not. think of it as like how Hickies are made. Strong suction and a sort of bruised skin with a sort of temporary blood clot.

Do you have one of those hanging box cages? if you do put him in it.

i have a critter carrier for separating problem fish that i could try to rig but i'm afraid it'd fall and he'd drown. i have a 15 but it has a lungfish in it. a pretty large one. i'll try to think of something.

Poor little french fry guy. (Sorry, I have three albino senegalus and my wife calls them "French fry guys.") Keep watching it, as these guys are tough little buggers.

he was INSIDE of the hose. i had to blow him out. god i hate everything.

Makme sure u don't put him in a container where he can't come up for air. He will drown if he is denied atmospheric air.
