wow... good luck with him.... you try feeding yet?

man thats worse then when my frt got stuck in the intake of a 404

this happened 7 minutes before i took pictures. he wasn't moving for about ten minutes. NO, i haven't tried feeding. he's still kicking. i'll make sure the carrier is super stable before i go to bed, if i'm unsure i'll just put him in another container out of the tank until tomorrow.

ok good.... wait a few days maybe a week... i think it will pull threw...
same think with my frt.. but with a fluval 404 and messed my frt up bad :(

Yo man, by the looks of the pic with the critter carrier, it looks like it doesn't have good access to the surface. It may take it too much energy to get air.

You should put it in a small container with really shallow water, i mean so all it has to do is stretch its body up to get to the air. Throw in a small heater and an airstone and hope for the best.

By the sounds of it it seems pretty messed up, but bichirs are tanks hopefully it pulls through.

This happened to me when i first started the hobby

I used to keep fantails, and the smallest got stuck in the intake of a 303...It died after a few hours...

But hey, that was a goldfish...Not a Bichir...*thumbs up*

Good luck with him, and it porbably isnt brain damaged as most fish cant survive anyway with brain damage...

dude!!!! how can say that! they should have equal value because their both have lives!! to me losing that goldfish would be just a tragic as losing the bichir.

Nah, bichirs are 10x cooler than goldfish :D

Goldfish is bottom of the rung, along with feeder platys and ghost shrimp.

I did the same thing to my retropinnis bichir, but i caught it quickly, he healed up in a few days. Hows the guy doing now?

lol...what i meant was that the goldfish does not have the same regenerative and reslient capability that the snakehead has...

he's still alive this morning and looks slightly less red. i stabilized the critter carrier so it can't go anywhere and propped it slightly higher for more access to air. i'll keep an eye on him this weekend. thanks everyone.
